About Us
The Emergency Foundation for Miserable is a Cambodian charity organization has been created on 2005 in according people in Kampong Speu and Takeo provinces of Cambodia have been faced famine after have water flood and dry season prolonged long time. After assistance to famine people we continue to support vulnerable people who are living a very bad condition.
Our vision is to achieve improvement in the living standard of the vulnerable people particular non occupational widows who have many children, lonely old age people with impoverished life, disabled people non occupation with many children in burden.
Our major activities are focus to help poorest children who are not able study at public school in order to be providing opportunity to learn as other children and health care service to poorest communities, by provide free curing service.
Nowadays, the EFFM has three main projects:
1- The project in support of scavenge children at rubbish tip in Phnom Penh to attend public schools. This project is being implemented in Prek Toil Village, Steung Meanchey Commune, Phnom Penh. The project activity is to support those children to study at public schools like other children through providing monthly food, school fee, clothes and other stationeries.
Every year, we have around 30 children looking forward to this support.
2- Medical Mobile Clinic is one of the EFFM project which provides free of charge health care service to poor people in three poorest communities:
I- Prek Toil Village, Steung Meanchey Commune(Phnom Penh rubbish tip).
II- Doem Kor Village, Chroy Chanva Commune(4Km from Chroy Chanva bridge).
III- Andong Village, Kakab Commune(7Km from Phnom Penh Air port).
3- The EFFM`s last project is to support miserable households with a lot of children widows through providing handicraft training and looking for markets for their handmade handicraft products. In the period of training, EFFM will be provided food (rice) to help reduce their living difficulties every month.
Recently, due to limitation of Foundation`s resource, we are challenging the shortage either of funding or human resource to sustainable support foundation activities. On behalf of the board governing of EFFM, we would like to appeal for humanity activities involvement from generous people living in Cambodia and foreign country to kindly provide possibility support for foundation activities.
The Emergency Foundation for Miserable will carry out activities neutrally, non discriminated, non-political bias, non –political party involvement and not be an instrument of any political party.
The logo of the foundation composed of blue cross surrounded by the heart shape paddy garland. Each of the four corners of the cross is filled in with abbreviation of the foundation (EFFM). Cross represents the emergency relief while the heart-shape paddy garland represents unification and sympathy while blue color represents peace, a white shadow people on the centre is meaning non discriminated political tendency, religion and race. EFFM letters filled in each corner of the cross is the abbreviation of the foundation of Emergency Foundation for Miserable.
